The UrbanShift Africa Forum will bring together 250 participants from over 30 cities across the region, including mayors, city officials, national government representative financiers, businesses, civil society organisations, and more. The Forum will provide platform to exchange knowledge on urban development and climate challenges, as well as high-impact solutions and actions. With most of the world’s projected urban growth expected to occur in Africa, the Forum will focus on resilience, urban growth, and infrastructure development. The Forum will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 17th – 19th February 2025, delivered by UrbanShift. Hosted by C40 Cities, the Forum will feature contributions from the host organisation, UNEP, ICLEI, WRI, and other key partners.
The City Academies provide training opportunities for city-level decision-makers and practitioners on three parallel courses, namely Accommodating Urban Growth, (delivered by C40); and Circular Economy (delivered by ICLEI) and Green and Thriving Neighbourhoods (delivered by UNEP). These training courses will take place over two days – Thursday 20th to Friday 21st Feb – and combine presentations and interactive exercises with the sharing of best practice.
