Webinar: Announcement of Small Grants Programme for Field Restoration Projects

Registration>>

On 15th of February 2024 the G20 Global Land Initiative launched the application phase of its first Small Grants Programme for Field Restoration Projects. The Initiative’s grant programme will support field restoration projects with grants ranging between USD 5,000 and 15,000. Civil society organizations from any region of the world, which are involved in community actions to restore land, are eligible. This restoration can take place in any kind of ecosystem, to cover the biggest possible diversity of land restored.

With over 650 applications from 100 countries received, this first cycle of the Grant Program attracted big interest in field restoration communities all around the world. After a thorough review and selection process, the G20 Global Land Initiative has selected 39 organizations which will receive the much needed funds. The restoration actions which will be funded range from soil restoration, agroforestry, water resource management, reforestation to habitat restoration. There is also a number of organizations which will utilize the funds for capacity building projects, providing training and resources to communities, enabling them to improve their land productivity and ecosystem health through sustainable practices. This not only improves their livelihood but also food security.

An emphasis has been placed on not only on the environmental benefits, but also community engagement, as the projects supported by this Grant Program involve and benefit the local communities and partners. Those stakeholders include indigenous peoples and other marginalized communities like youth, elders and women.

This first cycle of the Small Grant Program for Field Restoration Projects has been a great success this far, and we are looking forward to announcing the selected organizations in the official announcement webinar on 1 July 2025. Please register below to join us and find out more about the projects, their activities and the start date of the next round of applications!
